Step into the world of jewellery design with this comprehensive 10-week course, perfect for complete beginners. Whether you're looking to explore a new hobby or start your creative journey, this class will equip you with the skills to bring your ideas to life.
What you'll learn: Over the first five weeks, you'll build a strong foundation in essential techniques including:
Saw piercing, filing, drilling
Hot and cold connections
Texturing, forming, and polishing
A basic introduction to enamelling
Optional cabochon bezel setting
What you'll make: Practice your skills using copper, saw blades, and solder—all provided. By week 4, you'll begin planning your own final project, with guidance from the tutors to help you refine your design and source materials.
Course structure:
Weeks 1–5: Skill-building and technique exploration
Half term break: 16–20 Feb (no class)
Weeks 6–10: Focused time to create your final jewellery piece(s)
What’s included: All practice materials are supplied for the first 5 weeks. You’ll leave with a deeper understanding of jewellery making and a finished piece that reflects your creativity and craftsmanship.
